Psychotherapy in Guelph: Rewrite the Stories That Shape Your Life

Virtual Therapy for Guelph Residents

Life can look fine from the outside and still feel overwhelming on the inside.

Maybe you’re constantly second-guessing yourself. Maybe you feel like you’re never doing enough, despite working hard and accomplishing a lot. Maybe you’re caught in a cycle of overthinking, comparison, and self-criticism. Or maybe you’ve achieved the things you thought would make you happy, yet something still feels missing.

If that sounds familiar, therapy can help.

I provide virtual psychotherapy for adults in Guelph and across Ontario, offering a supportive space to make sense of what’s happening, reconnect with what matters most, and move toward meaningful change.

When Success Doesn’t Feel Like Enough

Many of the people I work with appear successful on the outside but feel stuck on the inside.

They often struggle with:

  • Anxiety and overthinking

  • Perfectionism

  • Self-criticism

  • People-pleasing

  • Burnout and chronic stress

  • Feeling like they’re falling behind

  • Comparing themselves to others

  • Low self-worth

  • Relationship challenges

  • Questions about identity, purpose, and direction

For many people, self-worth becomes tied to achievement, productivity, status, income, or meeting certain expectations. No matter how much they accomplish, it never quite feels like enough.

Therapy can help you step out of that cycle, understand where those pressures come from, and develop a more stable sense of worth that isn’t dependent on constant achievement.

Therapy for Men in Guelph

Many men grow up learning that their value comes from what they provide, achieve, or contribute to others.

As a result, it’s common to feel pressure to always be doing more, earning more, staying strong, or keeping everything together no matter what’s happening internally.

I work with many men who are experiencing:

  • Anxiety and chronic stress

  • Burnout

  • Self-worth tied to achievement

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Emotional disconnection

  • Fear of failure or falling behind

  • Questions about masculinity and identity

Therapy offers a place to step away from those expectations, understand how they’ve shaped your life, and build a version of success that feels meaningful rather than exhausting.

Therapy for University Students and Young Adults

Guelph is home to countless university, college, and graduate students, and young adults navigating significant life transitions.

I’ve worked with many post-secondary students struggling with academic pressure, perfectionism, anxiety, and uncertainty about what comes next. Others are approaching graduation, starting careers, or feeling overwhelmed by the pressure to have life figured out.

For many young adults, these years are also when questions about identity, self-worth, relationships, and success become impossible to ignore.

Therapy provides a space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

My Approach

My approach is collaborative, conversational, and practical.

I draw from Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other evidence-based approaches. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, we explore the stories, beliefs, and expectations that may be shaping how you see yourself and your life.

I also offer a short-term approach called One-at-a-Time Therapy. Rather than assuming therapy needs to be a long-term commitment, we treat each session as an opportunity to make meaningful progress and regularly check in about what’s most helpful. Many people find they achieve their goals in fewer sessions than they expected.

Whether you’re looking for a few focused conversations or longer-term support, we’ll work together to find an approach that fits your needs.
